RACV CAPE SCHANCK

AN ICON IN THE HEART OF THE MORNINGTON PENINSULA.

  • Original Architect wWood Marsh
  • Supertuft Carpet Custom Imagine (RACV Blue and RACV Olive), Imagine Sublime and Imagine Divine.

Situated in a natural saddle near the Bass Strait, RACV Cape Schanck Resort is nestled in the rugged terrain of the Mornington Peninsula. Its curvaceous design provides guests with a sweeping 180-degree view of the coast. On one side, you can see Port Phillip Bay with a glimpse of Melbourne’s CBD on the horizon; on the other side, you look out over the untamed Bass Strait.

The architectural firm Wood Marsh has taken inspiration from the local topography and the corrosive nature of the coastline, influencing both the sculptural geometry and the choice of materials.

“RACV Cape Schank marked our second collaboration with Wood Marsh, following the successful completion of the Torquay RACV Resort. The carpet colours were custom-designed specifically for RACV, and we were thrilled to see our most luxurious style, Imagine, used effectively in high-traffic areas for such an iconic project.”

Dominic Ralton, Supertuft Managing Director.

The brief required an architectural landmark designed to attract guests and cater to a diverse range of existing and new user groups while providing significant social, economic, and environmental benefits to the region. RACV offers a world-class experience with a 120-room hotel, gym, luxury day spa, restaurants, golf club, and golf course. The interior layout features a series of impressive public and private spaces, all oriented towards key views.
