A JOURNEY THROUGH COLOUR, CRAFT AND ATMOSPHERE

Staged for the Lexus Melbourne Cup Carnival, this temporary hospitality pavilion by Brahman Perera unfolds across three levels, each with its own distinct look and feel. The design moves from soft and reflective, to rich and composed, to playful and light, all while staying true to Lexus’ design approach: considered, evolving and quietly expressive.

On the pavilion’s mid-level, the palette turns to deep blue, walnut timber and dark caramel, with timber modules shaping each setting. This is where Supertuft’s Escape Twist carpet appears, in Missy and Poppy. Both colours were selected to sit comfortably within the space’s tonal palette while adding texture underfoot. The twist construction is built to handle the demands of a high-traffic hospitality event without compromising on comfort or appearance.

Further into the pavilion, the palette shifts to mint, celadon and blush against mirrored surfaces and glass. The carpet changes tone here too, but the material story stays consistent. Escape Twist is made from 100% New Zealand wool, chosen for its durability and colour performance in a space that saw constant foot traffic throughout the event. It was a practical choice as much as a design one.
