Tucked into a quiet cul-de-sac in the heart of Hawksburn, this four-bedroom home by Melbourne studio Lande is a masterful study in restraint and materiality. Harmoniously positioned within a heritage streetscape, its striking clay brick façade gives little away from the street — but inside, a considered design philosophy unfolds. Light fills every room through carefully placed openings, and a palette of traditional, natural materials grounds the space in warmth without sacrificing a thoroughly contemporary sensibility.
Throughout the home, the selection of materials feels deliberate and cohesive. With clay, timber, stone, and wool each playing a role in creating an interior that is tactile, grounded, and quietly luxurious. It is in this context that our Escape Twist carpet in Joni finds its natural home.
Joni is a soft, warm neutral, an understated tone that sits comfortably alongside raw and refined finishes alike. Laid through the bedrooms and upper living areas, it adds a layer of acoustic calm and sensory softness that harder surfaces cannot. Like the clay brick and natural timbers that define this home’s material story, our Escape Twist is made from 100% New Zealand wool — a fibre that is naturally beautiful, inherently durable, and kind to the environment. Wool carpet breathes with a space, regulating temperature and absorbing sound in a way that synthetic alternatives cannot replicate.
