Special requirements for all installations
Carpet lengths should be cut and loosely rolled a few days before installation to allow dissipation of volatile organic compounds associated with the carpet backing process.
Carpet installers should ensure there are no gaps or buried pile when joining carpet and applying heat bond tape.
Pressure boards should be used when joining carpet.
DO NOT USE spiked rollers as these can disturb and damage the pile.
Requirements for installation by “Dual Bond” or “Direct Stick”:
The carpet should be joined using heat bond tape to ensure that gaps do not appear after installation.
This method also prevents glue from penetrating the join.
